being still

Last week I was on vacation, visiting my sister who was graduating from culinary school. So my parents and I drove up to DC to see her graduate and to have her come back with us. And while we were traveling through Tennessee and Virginia, we drove through some of the most wonderful country (outside of my home state of Texas) and I was pleased that we weren't rushing through it and taking time to see the majesty of God's creation.

The question that I get from that is how often do we slow down and take time to see the majesty of God's creation? First off, there is the fact that you are alive, breathing, etc...that is part of the majesty of God's creation...The fact that there is a sunrise and sunset...part of the majesty of God's creation....to those who are parents, how about your children? Part of the majesty of God's creation....

How often do we pass by the majesty of God's creation because we are so busy with our lives....every once in a while follow the advice of the Psalmist...."Be still and know that I am God" and by knowing that He is God and He created all things and keeps them in balance, shouldn't that deepen your appreciation and worship of God?
