What kind of tree?

There has been controversy over the decision by Wisconsin's governor to change the name of the Christmas tree back to "Christmas tree" from "holiday tree"....the reaction of one group made me laugh out of pity....it was from an atheist group who said that changing the name back to Christmas tree was offensive to non-Christians....

If you look at that statement, you can see why I gave the pity laugh....the first being "holiday tree"....what holiday are you celebrating with a tree? Valentine's Day? St. Patrick's Day? Cinco De Mayo? There's only one holiday that is symbolized with a tree and that is Christmas...and secondly, what non-Christians celebrate Christmas??? If you're Jewish, you don't celebrate Christmas-If you're Muslim, you don't celebrate Christmas. And ESPECIALLY if you are atheist, you don't celebrate Christmas....

Unfortunately, all of this hullabaloo is because of the desire that some have to eliminate Christmas altogether...as least the "Christian" Christmas, keeping the peace on earth, goodwill to men and other emotions, but removing Christ from it in any way shape or form. Paul wrote about this well, when he mentioned to Timothy about mankind having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.

And a Messianic Gentile, I know that the birth of our Lord was more in the autumn months (maybe during the Feast of Tabernacles). And as a believer, I know that a lot of stuff about Christmas is over-commerialized and overblown and have nothing to do with Christ, but in the end we have to remember that Christmas is for remembering that Christ came to the earth and the reason that He came to the earth was to save us from sin....

So in the words of A Christmas Carol: "I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year".....no matter what kind of tree you have.....
