If you've noticed, it's been a month since there has been a blog entry...
Part of the reason why is that I had to replace my computer (a blog entry in its' own that I probably tell you about later).....but the other part is due to laziness....the struggle against what I have called "The Fat Man".....see blog entries "Return of the Fat Man" http://1ncisfan.blogspot.com/2010/04/return-of-fat-man.html and "Fat Man Part 2" http://1ncisfan.blogspot.com/2010/07/fat-man-part-2.html
We think of laziness as just lying around and doing nothing....but that can be applied to many different areas of our lives....how about the busy man who neglects his family and doesn't do anything to rectify the situation...or about the person who is content in his spiritual walk and doesn't do anything to improve it? Aren't those signs of laziness? We say to ourselves: "I'll take care of it tomorrow..." and it becomes easier to say the next day; because the problem with laziness is...LAZINESS IS NOT LAZY...it's busy thinking of new ways to keep us "occupied" so that we don't see what we are doing to ourselves, it's busy thinking of new ways for us to create excuses not to take care of the situation that we face....it's busy thinking of how to put stumbling blocks so that we focus on others rather than ourselves...it's busy thinking of ways for us to say "Don't turn that over to God, it's such a small matter", etc....
The key to battle against laziness is to stop and say "I will not give any more ground!", that we have let things go and to remember that as believers every area of our life is God's and to have Him help us how to get our lives back on track.....because we have to realize also that laziness is the tag-team partner of neglect and if you've read the other blog entries that I mentioned above then you realize what neglect does to us as believers...and we can't fight them alone, we need the power of God on a daily basis (and not being lazy in skipping a day) to be able to handle the problems that laziness/neglect put in our path and to resist that call to let our guard down....
So the choice is ours....are we going to listen to the voice of laziness and fulfill the words of a song of the 50's..."The only problem is...gee whiz...I'm dreaming my life away..." only to wake up and find that every thing that you've worked for has been washed away...or listen to the voice of Truth and follow His direction and end up with a stronger and more powerful walk beyond what you could have imagined...The choice is ours...let us not be lazy in deciding which way to go....
